At Covenant Centre for Open and Distance e-Learning (CCODeL), we prioritize ensuring that distance learners have equitable access to educational resources, support services, and opportunities comparable to their on-campus counterparts. Our distance learners have access to the same high-quality curriculum, expert faculty, academic support services, and extracurricular activities available to on-campus learners. Moreover, distance learners are eligible to participate in various university events, functions, and initiatives, fostering a holistic educational experience regardless of physical location.

Certainly, learners enrolled in the Computer Science program and future programs through Covenant Centre for Open and Distance e-Learning (CCODeL) may be required to visit the campus for face-to-face interactions with their facilitators/e-tutors and to take a campus tour for a few days. The timing for these visits will be communicated in advance to allow for proper planning. It’s important to note that while face-to-face interactions are scheduled periodically, all course materials, lectures, discussions, and assessments are delivered through our learning management system (LMS). This approach enables learners to study from anywhere at their own pace and convenience, ensuring flexibility and accessibility.

In the CCODeL learning environment, you will participate in a virtual classroom facilitated by the learning management system. This system allows you to access pre-recorded course content at your convenience and engage in real-time activities with fellow learners. Through the learning management system, you can interact with other learners, facilitators, and e-tutors, accessing course materials, participating in discussion forums, viewing multimedia content, and completing assessments.

The number of courses that distance learners must take per semester can vary depending on various factors such as program requirements, course load, and individual learner preferences. Typically, distance learners are expected to enroll in multiple courses per semester to ensure academic progress while also balancing other responsibilities.

Distance learners may have the opportunity to participate in on-ground classes or activities on a case-by-case basis, contingent upon program requirements, course availability, and logistical feasibility. Covenant Centre for Open and Distance e-Learning (CCODeL) accommodates the needs of distance learners interested in attending on-campus sessions by offering flexibility in scheduling and accommodations. The duration of on-campus attendance for distance learners may vary, depending on the nature and frequency of on-ground classes or events.

At CCODeL, examinations are conducted at physical centers located across various states in Nigeria. These centers serve as designated venues where students can sit for their exams under proctored conditions. Students are typically assigned to specific centers based on their geographical location or preferences. This approach ensures that students have convenient access to exam facilities and enables effective proctoring to maintain exam integrity. Prior to the exam dates, students will receive information regarding their assigned exam center, exam schedules, and any additional instructions for exam day.

Certainly, Covenant University offers accommodation facilities for learners requiring temporary lodging during examination periods or other on-campus activities. These accommodations provide comfortable living spaces equipped with essential amenities to create a conducive environment for studying and relaxation. Learners interested in accessing these facilities can make prior arrangements through the university’s accommodation office via CCODeL.

CCODeL learners are exclusive graduates who are exempted from participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program. As such, they are granted the right to an exemption letter, which is equivalent to an NYSC certificate.
